NIGERIAN GOSPEL SINGER NATHANIEL BASSEY SET TO MINISTER AT DONALD TRUMP'S INAUGURATION BREAKFAST PRAYER
Renowned Nigerian Gospel singer and pastor, Nathaniel Bassey, has been invited to lead worship at the U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast for President-elect Donald Trump on January 20, 2025, in Washington, D.C.
The U.S. Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast is a non-partisan, faith-based event held every four years before the official swearing-in of a new administration. It focuses on prayers and worship as spiritual support for the U.S. president and government.
Nathaniel Bassey took to his Instagram page to share the news, stating, "Let’s raise a sound in America. See you January 20, 2025."
Nathaniel Bassey, known for his worship songs like "Imela," "Onise Iyanu," "Olowogbogboro and "Ebenezer" is the only Nigerian and African artist on the lineup. He is also recognized as the convener of the Hallelujah Challenge, an annual worship concert streamed on social media that connects millions of worshipers worldwide.
In 2024, the 75th Mayor of Albany, New York, Kathy Sheehan, recognized Bassey by declaring every October 6 as "Pastor Nathaniel Bassey Day."
The event will be hosted by Reverend Merrie Turner at the prestigious Waldorf Astoria Presidential Ballroom. Other speakers include Pastor Mario Bramick and Alveda King.
