The Country of Barbados which is located in the Eastern part of the Caribbean has finally gained independence and will now be called "Barbados Republic".
The island was under the rulership of Queen Elizabeth II but the mantle of leadership has now been given to Dame Sandra ⁵ Mason by Prince Charles who represented the Queen of England.

The singer happens to be the second person to be honored ever and this is due to her numerous achievements in her chosen career as an entertainer and as an entrepreneur.
