Steroid creams are used in fighting bacteria, fungi/fungus and inflammation.
These creams are OTC (over the counter) or readily available in drugstores near you and may cause a huge harm to your babies sensitive skin if not used properly.
Steroid creams like Funback A, Skineal, ABF and so on cannot be far fetched, therefore you are advised to desist from usage if your child is not having any of the following conditions listed below;
. Inflammations
. Rashes
. Eczema
. Discoloration
. Irritation and many other skin problems.
Hence, most Nigerian moms have been found to use to ceams in mixing their babies creams or Shea butter in order to make the baby fair in complexion.
Just in case you do not know, these creams are medicines as they contain antibiotics and other property(ies) that can harm the baby if used long-term.
If you most use such creams, use them within 4 to 6 weeks. Apparently the baies most have been healed of any skin problems.
Paediatricians have also adviced that these creams should be used when prescibed and applied based on prescription and should be discontinued as soon as the child feels better.
