The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission EFCC, Lagos Chapter, yesterday recovered $38M, N23M and other foreign currencies in a private apartment in Gerard Road Ikoyi Lagos.
The whistle blower had again given the EFCC a tip-off and they acted upon it, The voluminous amount was said to be owned by a Politician based in FCT, Abuja.
The Commission spokesman in person of Mr Samin Amaddin also confirmed this discovery, though the agent who went on the mission were yet to return to their base.The Federal Government had also promised to compensate the whistle-blowers and had also pledged to protect them at all cost as the Minister of Information and Culture Alh. Lai Mohammed says " any whistle-blower whose information is concrete and leads to the recovery of N1billion would receive 5% of the amount.
