EXCLUSIVE: AUSTRALIA UNVEILS NEW TRAFFIC SIGNALS DEPICTING PEDESTRIANS WEARING DRESSES

In Australia, Traffic Signals depicting pedestrians wearing dresses has been unveiled and this is as a apart of "Gender Equality Campaign".

The trial programme in Melbourne is designed to "reduce unconscious bias"...said CEO of Lobby Group Committee.

But the ten signals in the city center have drawn a mixed response, with critics saying they are unnecessary.
Organizers hope the city's pedestrian crossings will ultimately depict men and women in equal numbers. "Unconscious bias reinforces stereotypes and influences daily decisions and attitude",said Marine Letts, CEO of Lobby Group Committee For Melbourne.

She also said the signals would "draw our attention to these issues in a practical and positive way..she concluded.
