JET BLUE FLIGHT ATTENDANT WHO RAN FROM SECURITY OFFICIALS HAS FINALLY BEEN ARRESTED

A flight attendant of JetBlue who ran from security officials at the Los Angeles International Airport and left behind cocaine worth $3m in her luggage has finally been arrested in New York.



Flight attendant Marsha Gay Reynolds surrendered to federal authorities at JFK International Airport on Wednesday, although it is still very unclear how she managed to arrived in New York, said the federal officials.

As expected, she is to appear in Brooklyn's federal court on Thursday, US Attorney's spokesman Thom Mrozek reports.

According to authorities, Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officials asked Marsha to step aside while they conducted a random screening on Friday,

But dropped her luggage as she proceeded to a secondary screening area, ditching her pair of Gucci heels as she fled barefooted down an upward-moving escalator, LAX airport police reported. Marsha who has since been charged with cocaine possession and with intent to distribute.

According to Mr Mrozek who said prosecutors believe that Marsha was a runner-up in Miss Jamaica World 2008.

New York University also lists one Marsha-Gay Reynolds as having been on the school's 2004 women's track and field team.

Wearing jeans, heels and a black suit jacket, with her "known crew member badge" On Friday, she arrived at an LAX checkpoint in Terminal 4, according to an FBI affidavit. It was unclear whether she was on duty at the time.

When she was her turn for random security screening, a TSA officer known as Jamie Samuel said she became nervous and began to look around, before making a call via her mobile phone.

He went further to say Marsha was talking in a foreign language unknown to them as she was moved to a secondary screening area, according to the affidavit.

Once she got inside, Charles James a TSA officer asked for her identification.

"At this time, Reynolds dropped her carry-on luggage, removed her shoes and began to run away," the affidavit said.


Eleven huge packages of cocaine wrapped in green cellophane and labelled "BIG Ranch" were found inside one of the bags Marsha left behind as seen in the picture above.

The cocaine weighed more than 68lbs and could be worth as much as $3m.
